Picture of eclipse
This image was entered in the March/April 1998 Internet Ray-Tracing Competition for the theme of Night. This has been my most complex image to date, with several million triangles used to define the various shapes. With this image, I was trying to show a fairly realistic eclipse over a forest. The lighting may be a bit off, and I see a few other flaws with the image, but I only had about two weeks to do it.

In case the eclipse itself does not seem that realistic, take a look at the Nasa gallery of solar eclipses. I realize that the water may seem a little too blue, or the trees may show their grid alignment in certain places, but as I said, this was a very short-term project.
